For all you english speaking people, it’s a show about 2 guys fighting for a girl’s heart. Yeah I know what you might think now.. why would you do that on TV?!? Oh well it was a great experience, a great holiday, some great people I got to know, thats all I can say :-) Thanks also to the camera team, you guys are great! Berlin - I’m back!

riccardo_polabogen01

Hey guys, I just arrived in Germany and well what can I say, I like being back but I hate the cold and rainy days. I don’t mind it being cold and sunny at the same time, but I do hate these grey, rainy cold days…

Model Business isn’t as great as it used to be and I guess we can blaim it like everything else on that stupid financial crisis. Oh well… nothing we, the normal people can do about it I guess.

Anyway, I got one new thing to tell you guys. I have a new Agency in Berlin, it’s SeedsManagement !

On the left you see my current polaroids, hope you like them :-)

Furthermore I just got some news that my latest photos with Sebastien will be published in KULT (http://www.kultmagazine.it/) Magazine Italy in January.

That’s it for now. Take care!

I was Dumped by Sebastien ?

I was Dumped by Sebastien ?
Haha what a funny title that is, well actually it wasn’t as funny as I realized the next day after it was taken… Last Thursday I went to the Soho hotel to meet Sebastien for a fitting and some test shots…

It was fun and Sebastien is a great guy. Check out his website www.sbastien.com ! He explained that he was gonna do the shoot with Bruce Labruce (www.brucelabruce.com) and another photographer!

Anyway that same night we went out with some friends of his to a place I can’t remember the name of :-) It was a fun night.

The next day I was supposed to get the timetable for the shoot, but there were some problems with the hotel manager and in the end the shoot got canceled :-( Very disappointing… Let’s hope and see what those test photos will be like :-)

Barcelona Spain - What an amazing place!

IMGP3760.jpgHello guys, it’s great to be in Barcelona. I’m here on a modeling contract with Traffic Models. Season this time is quite slow and gives a bit of time for sightseeing. The one thing that people in Barcelona aways find time for is parties and concerts. There is NO day where there isn’t anything happening in Barcelona.

I love this city, starting from its convenient public transport to its walkable distances to all major places. Myself I live in Barceloneta one of the greates places to be. Many foreigners live here and you will find many clubs, bars and great places to hang out. Not to forget that you have a beach around the corner  :-) What more would you want… This time of the year for sure isn’t the high season but you still find quite a lot people on the beach. One thing that I found annoying is those Asian girls wanting to give you a massage every 5 minutes ur enjoying the sun.

  • IMGP3788.jpgHere are some places you should definitely visit.First of all walk down Les Rambles and cut into the old city (Barri Gòtic). There you can visit the cathedral and surrounding areas.
  • A must see is Parc Güell to see all the Gaudí monuments in the park.
  • The Picasso Museum and it’s surrounding area you should definitely give a visit!
  • Walk up and down Passeig de Gràcia - easy for me as this is the way from home to my agency :-) You will see wondeful architecture and a lot of shopping from cheap like Mango and Zara to expensive like Dolce Gabbana
  • Some incredible buildings you should definitely visit are Casa Milà (also known as “La Pedrera” ), Casa Batlló and Sagrada Familia. These are Gaudí’s masterpieces
  • From Sant Sebastia to Barceloneta Beach you can see some beautiful sculptures (That’s where I live)
  • Be careful of pickpockets!!!

IMGP3745.JPGI can tell you there is loads more to see!!! Even myself I didn’t have the time or didnt make enough time to see all the beautiful places Barcelona has to offer. But maybe I’m a little lazy too laying on the beach or enjoying this nice flair in Barceloneta. Just around the corner where I live are many Bars and Caffees its amazing. You can also find many electronic shops close to the Metro Station Barceloneta . I didn’t buy anything yet neither did I compare the prices but I guess it will be a lot cheaper than anywhere in the city. Its definitely worth a try.

One great tip for getting around fast and easily in Barcelona is by bicycle. There are all over the city and cost about 22 Euro a YEAR! Everyone is using them, but be careful, there is crazy drivers out there, not only by car :-)

The nights are crazy in Barcelona, theres always many people out and it’s very easy to get to know new people everytime you go out. There is also free concerts in Barcelona like the one I went to was a Drum’n'Bass Concert just nearby where I live in Arc de Triomf. Another place I went to is Razzmataz which is a very big club, 5 FLOORS!!! Too big for my taste I like it more familiar and small. The music was good, from Alternative to electro, house dand dance. It’s definitely worth a try if you want to meet a big crowd.

IMGP3800.jpgThis weekend I went to Shoko near Parc de Olympic. It was already after 2 and Alex (french guy frommy agency) and myself walked to the entry and the host was aksing us if we were on the guestlist. My prompt answer was, well not today, and shes like oh well. Get in :-) haha. Shoko is like a place where you find more ‘classy’ people or people pretending to be this way. Music was not bad, sometimes really good indeed. A shot vodka was 5 euros, double shot 9. Another thing about clubs in Barcelona that isn’t the way I’m used to it in Berlin is that they would shut down at about 4ish to 6ish. But apparently the after hour parties are amazing!!!

This is it for now… puhhh :-)

Belgium, Chocolate, Fries and Beer :-)

DSC02990.JPGAfter the IFA in Berlin which was a great place to work and meet new interesting people I took my flight straight to Brussels. She was already waiting at the airport for me, the girl I was looking for to meet for so long after having met her in Turkey. It was the first time for me in Belgium. From the airport then we went to Brussels and did a bit sightseeing, and guess what I was able to resist the taste of chocolate, for now :-)

She lives in a small village close to Antwerp with cute little houses and streets haha. Thanks to he family for making me such a warm welcome! I had a great time exploring Begium with my babe. The first weekend we went to Antwerp to a festival called Laundry Day. All different kind of music from RnB, Techno, Indie to Electro. Only thing that confused me a little bit were all those little wannabe kids :-) But I have to admit I loved the location!

IMGP3510.JPGBut we also did some culture stuff and sightseeing :-) We went to see places like Ghent, Brussels, Brugge and Antwerp. Belgium in deed has some really nice architecture to offer. My favourite city is Brugge with all its small rivers, buildings and tons of chocolate shops :-) I also have to admit that we did indeed eat too much of these delicious belgium fries. LOVE them especially with goulash ( or in dutch stoofvlees) ! IMGP3543.JPG

Give it a try, but don’t get addicted or you will end up with a few kilos more :-)

Thanks Tess for making this trip such a special one. Hopefully I can give you the same warm welcome next time you are in Berlin.

But for now I’m off to Spain on monday. I will be going to Barcelona to work with Traffic Models. Wish me luck :-) It’s a great city I was told so many times, I’m looking forward to it!

It’s Hot in Germany! Berlin my fav city!

IMGP2897.JPGWell I’m back, back in good old Germany meeting old friends and making new friends. It’s great being home! It’s  summertime also because I get to meet some very good old friends of mine. I went to Dresden to check out my bros apartment and also met my aunt and went to play beach volleyball. In the end of the day we were going to Public Viewing of Germany against Poland which Germany won. I also went to Berlin to stay with Jana and Jules. We had a great time doing some sightseeing and going out and watching the European Final, even tho Germany lost, I know how bad was that….

I missed those bakeries, clean environment and kinda organised life I didn’t really have before. In some ways I do see us Germans a bit different, too hectic and too much wanting to have everything perfect. But maybe that’s a good thing :-) It’s so hot here in Germany, you are really looking forward to have a bit of rain to cool down sit at home and relax.

IMGP2840.JPGAnyway if you ever make it to this great city Berlin you have to check out those clubs I’m gonna talk about. First of all we went to Weekend, which is close to Alexander Platz. It was a thursday so it wasn’t as busy as usual also because of so many Open-Air Festivals around the city and not to forget the European Championship. Weekend has 2 floors, one only was opened that day. But the most amazing thing is the few all over Berlin and the Berlin TV Tower. Amazing… Check out this photo at night!

The second place we went is Panorama Bar. It is in eastern part of Berlin and looks like a old industrial warehouse from the outside. Unfortunately you are not allowed to take any camera with you. Who knows why, is it because of the dark rooms or candies they sell… who knows :-) It is great music, a great atmosphere and cool people. Definitely no young crowd which I was happy about, cool people. On one wall you could see a photo with of a woman, although her upper body was cut off I could definitely Identify that since she didn’t wear any underwear :-) Great scene, atmosphere… Loved it!

The Second Club we went to is Watergate near Warschauer Strasse in east Berlin. My favourite Club… We went there at about 1:30 am and had to wait for another 40 minutes to an hour to get in. Many tourists tried to get in as well. For all you guys out there who try to get into a famous/popular night club in a different country with 3 or more of your male friends, one tip: Don’t even bother trying, or if you do, get some chics and ask them to get you in. I just don’t get those people it’s obvious that they can’t get in.. Oh well. Jana and Me met some really cool people on the way and in the cue. A couple, she was from Germany and he from Ireland, great people. We hang out that night and got a few drinks together, Vodka Redbull and Sambuka shots… :-) Check out this Video, it’s amazing the interior design with the ceiling’s digital animation looking like a equalizer.

About 5ish we met some cool people from England which we were partying till about 7 or 8ish. Not to forget some that there is 3 areas. The main floor which I mentioned above, the second floor one below with an outside terrace where you can see the sunrise. Check out this video from the second floor with terrace:

AMAZING! It was a fantastic night and Jana and me walked home, just to get a idea how far we are living away :-) Bad Idea, it took about an hour or so…

There a lot more great clubs to check out, like Maria am Ostbahnhof, Tresor … It just wasn’t enough time yet to check them all out hehe

Anyway… that’s it for now. Don’t forget to check out the videos and photos people.

AHHHHH Lazy me…. !!!

n731865195_1290126_3955.jpgHey guys, haven’t updated this blog in ages… why ?!?! Oh well don’t ask me :-) Well I try to keep this post as short as possible. After Hong Kong I went to Taiwan to see some friends of mine. Unfortunately many of them were busy and so I couldn’t meet up with everyone in the short week I had in Taipei. But I made a great trip down south to Kaohsiung. with Mattea and David. Thanks to David for inviting me to this trip, he actually had a job down there shooting some skater guys…. Great Stuff, Check out this picture to the left.

More photos by David Barker you can on Flickr!

1017254064.jpgMattea and me went hopping and sightseeing and met up with David and everyone else later. After the shoot we went to Liam’s house to relax for a while before we had dinner at a restaurant, I forgot the name tho, but the food was great! They even had german sausage :-)… If ur ever down there check it out. It was quite late so Mattea and me then decided togo back to the hotel as we had to get up early. It was an awesome time I had down there, so chilled and relaxed compared to any place I had been before and after the stress and work I had in Hong Kong… Of course I couldn’t miss going to Bar Code, Room 18 and yeah ok Luxy as well. Here is one photo of Mattea and me in Luxy :-) Isn’t she cute…

As I said, it was only a week, not enough time to enjoy Taiwan the way I did before… I left to Hong Kong for a day, organised a few things and did my banking before I took off to my next trip, JAPAN! At the airport in HK I then looked for the counter NWA - NorthWest Airlines or so. American company… I got checked like 4 times or more from the time I checked in to the time I was boarding. It was the cheapest flight I could get, and let me tell you something, you could taste the cheapness in the food. The flight was one of the most uncomfortable ones I had, turbulences and those air bumps when ur feeling like ur in free fall. Despite that I had a very nice lady sitting next to me who I was talking to the whole flight. We basically talked about Tokyo, Japan’s culture and things. She gave me her business card and phone number in case I had any troubles getting around in Tokyo. Thanks Tomie!

Tokyo, here I come!!! I have heared great things about this city from my friends. And let me tell you one thing upfront, I didn’t get disappointed! …except the fact that no matter what city I was going to it was raining…One thing gave me headaches, and this was getting a sim card for my phone… It’s not as easy as in Hong Kong where you buy a sim card at 7-11 at the counter, it took me around 40 minutes to get one at the airport. Usually people rent a phone, but I wanted to keep my contacts and everything. The disadvantage using your own phone is that you can’t send or receive any messages.

IMGP2318.JPGFinally I took the Airpot Express to Tokyo City….easy… Not so easy is the metro system tho. It’s not like having one major company running the metro, you have a different subway systems run by different companies. I somehow managed to get where I wanted and called up a my friend Mami to meet at the Station Ueno. I took us 30-40 from the time we arrived at the station to find each other, let me tell ya, Ueno is massive! She helped me getting something like a PrePaid card which works for all metros and busses. Not to forget the first Sushi I had with her, AMAZING. Thanks for all that sweetheart, I won’t forget what you did for me!

IMGP2327.JPGWe went to many different places. First stop was how else can it be Shibuya. It’s a place where all sorts of people meet and go shopping and clubbing. The Clubbing scene in Shibuya as far as I know is more like Hip Hop style and only locals… You won’t see many foreigners in those clubs. But guess what, that lady I met in the plane, she has a few shops in Tokyo and Hong Kong. Most of her stuff is young and female, so she called up 2 of her stuff who took me out in Shibuya.. It was kinda weird since those girls were dancer also, or at least one of them and I was pretty much the only white guy in there :-) It was crowded as hell and I had to meet my other friends in Roppongi, where english is a more common spoken language. So I went there but couldn’t find the girls to say good bye. Hope you understand :-) I took a taxi, for the first time in Tokyo, and let me tell you it is quite expensive if you intend to do that on a regular basis. Anyway I managed to get to Roppongi and paid the cap driver with Credit Card, loving it :-)

IMGP2412.JPGI met Mami and we went to different bars and clubs. One thing I forgot to mention is that Roppongi is very famous for it’s nightlife. You will see many foreigners and of course models down there. Said tho I also met some old friends from Korea and China… I had a great time…

IMGP2467.JPGThe third day then I moved to a new place, amazing place in Shunjuku. It is called Fraser place and is located very near the metro station. VERY convenient! Thanks to Aaron for getting me this great place, check out this view!!!

Of course I did a lot of sightseeing myself in my own freetime. I checked a few old Temples as well as the skyline of Tokyo. One great place you shouldn’t miss visiting is Roppongi Hills. You not only get a great view all over the city and the famous Tokyo Tower, you also get to visit a great museum and BMW exhibition. IMGP2556.JPGIt’s definitely a must see attraction if you visit Tokyo! What more can I tell you guys… I guess pictures can express the vibe and feeling of the city a lot better than I could possibly describe it with words and the lack of time that I have :-)

Check them out here!

I guess it’s time to say good-bye. Thanks to all my friends and the new friends I made in Tokyo and Taiwan. I love these 2 places and will always come back if not even live there…

Cheers

Where am I going :-) Japan, Taiwan and Germany?!?

Hey guys, now it’s coming to the end the wonderful time I had in Hong Kong, met great people, had a great agency who took care of me and represented me in a great way so I could have a successful time in Hong Kong. My contract was supposed to finish on the after 2 months, now it’s 3 and I extended again for a week :-) What u gonna do :-)

I will miss Hong Kong but also looking forward to see my family after 3 years time. Not to forget my dad’s 50th Birthday! I still have a little time till I leave from Hong Kong to Germany on the 3rd of June… What am I going to do?!?

Not sure yet since I have 2 Options, Japan and Taiwan. I’ve never been Japan yet, but yeah I heared many good things about Tokyo and I would love to be there and spent some time. For sure I will go on a contract for modeling later this year.

Then Taiwan, I love this place as I mentioned previewsly in this blog, people are so nice, organised and clean. I’m really looking forward to see all you guys again in Taiwan, go to Bar Code, Room 18 and Luxy :-) haha

Oh well, lets see what the next days gonna be like, since I still have 8 days contract left :-)
