“Club 77″ - An Angel and Fruitpicking!!!

Straight after New Years Eve and having all those New Year’s resolutions, well I went straight away partying to “Club 77″ on Williams Street in Darling Hurst, close to Kings Cross. I went there with one of my best German mates Sebastian who I met out. Before Club 77 we went to SideBar. He told me he wanted to go to that club at about 12pm if I remember right. I wasn’t quite sure and said no, that I might join him later. Which I did, had enough of Backpacker style :-)

Fortunately I joined him, it was the best night out. The club was kinda small but the music was amazing. “Bang Gang DJ’s” like the famous DJ Ajax and other great local Sydney Dj’s were playing that night. For those who don’t know about them, you can find some of their famous tracks on compilations like “Ministry of Sound”. It is electronic, house, underground style kind of music. Except some crazy people there selling pills and stuff I loved it, the flair, familiar small, and it was just fun.

That night I saw an angel :-) (Photo above) Well I saw her the second time actually. Before my mate was talking to her in SideBar, which pissed me off because I wanted to talk to her. This time well, my chance :) She was from czech, and although I was ver much intoxicated I was able to walk her home, yes you’re hearing right, walking her home. She didn’t let me up :)

A week later I gave her a call if we could meet up in Bondi Beach, chilling and out and so. She came, great, but my mate who talked to her before was with me as well, damn it…. I was afraid she could like him, but in the end, it was all good and when she left and got into the bus she texted me she had a nice time. And this is how I started going out with her. Being with her for a while, i had to decide whether to stay in Australia or go back go Germany and leave her, well I decided to stay, I loved it here and I liked her a lot. She is a lovely cute caring girl originally coming from Czech republic. With 26 years she is only 3 years older than me working as a beautician and massage therapist in Sydney Swissotel.

I decided to do 3 months fruit picking in the north of Melbourne close to Shepparton to extend my visa in Australia. Fruitpicking??? YES! That’s what you gotta do if you want to stay in Australia another year with a Working Holiday Visa. You have to complete 3 calender months of fruitpicking or related social work. Some people work 3 days a week, and it’s considered a week, some did 7 days a week, up to 10 hrs a day. I was one of them! The first time I did tomatoe picking, worst and dirtiest job I’ve ever done in my life, and shit pay!

Staying in Murchison with my mate James in a Motel we met some other guys, giving us a telephone number of a factory sorting and packing tomatoes. It was flat 11 AU$ / hr. Working about 10 hrs a day 7 days a week I was able to make about 1000 AU $ / week which sounds good but was damn hard work. People running in flip-flops around and forklifts driving races. Little accidents did happen from time to time. Fortunately it didn’t affect me. Daily routine was getting up around 5am working 10 hrs and going home, having some food and go sleep. The whole time I was working there I didn’t take any break, worked 7 days/week. Yes, a tough guy I was :). Working like a horse I got some credit and left the factory earlier than expected getting all my papers signed to extend my visa for another year :)

The only time I was able to take a rest was when James and me went to Melbourne to “try” to watch the Commonwealth Games. We got a lift by a nice lady, hairdresser from Murchison. We didn’t have any tickets but wanted to see Melbourne anyway in case we won’t be able to get a ticket. We wanted to not see tomatoes at least for a day, and yes it was somehow like holidays. We made up a sign saying “We need tickets, only here for today” and walked through the crowds and finally found a woman who gave us 2 tickets for free :) So we went to the stadium which was enormous holding up to 100.000 people. And of course, we enjoyed the games.

And finally not soon after I finished my fruit picking work, and rushed back to Sydney via Greyhound bus. I missed her, my girlfriend Jana Brunclikova so much, and wanted to make it to her birthday. I wasn’t in best shape, pale, skinny from working a lot and got a hairdresser the same day, anyhow I was in Sydney, finally!

I called Adella who I organised my comeback to Sydney with. She is the reception girl in Swissotel Sydney, Amrita Health Spa where my girl is working. She made a booking that day for a massage. My girl wasn’t really happy about that late booking at about 5pm or so. But what she didn’t know, it was me waiting in the massage room with a class of champagne and 2 hotel nights booked in Swissotel Sydney. It was great to see her smile and have her back in my arms. Later than we went to a Mexican Restaurant in Darlinghurst with all her friends. Great food! After having dinner we went to LadyLux in Kings Cross, which is one of the best night clubs in Sydney.

It was a wonderful being back in Sydney and finally having that girl in my arms that I loved so much! Thanks Babe!
