New Years Eve 2005/2006 - Thanks Guys!

 IMG_2589.JPG

Firstly I have to say, the year 2005 was incredible, amazing travels and interesting people I got to know that year, maybe some of you will read this. I miss you all, it was definitely the best time in my life. Talking about friends I want to thank my 2 best mates I met in Australia, Ciaran and Jit.

Ciaran my Irish mate, well what can I say, I met you in the first Apartment I moved into. Although he was sceptical when I opened my mouth and he heared the German accent, but we got along very well. So many great times, we went out together to clubs, met girls, got drunk, had fun… I also remember that day we went out with James who was also living in our apartment. After a big night out no one of us felt like working, and guess what, we had the same employer :-) Somehow we managed to call him but he must have known …. You and Jit, who I got to know working for Victorias Basement in Sydney Artarmon, had truly the best times mates could have had and I sooo much wish I could turn back time….

Jit from England, you’r a great guy, I remember Christmas day as if it was yesterday. We went to Bondi Beach Pavilion to celebrate Christmas on the beach with loads of sunshine. It was incredible that day. I remember Jit having teeth problems, I think it was something about his wisdom teeth. But somehow, yeah we treated him with some pills and couldn’t stop him dancing all day/night long. For the interactive part of this story, here’s a video guys:

Another great event, actually 2 events for myself, was New Years Eve 2005/2006. Again Jit, Ciaran and me hitting the club after watching the Fireworks at Macquarie Chairs with view of the Harbour Bridge. Here is the Video my German mate took of the Fireworks, incredible stuff!

Ciaran and Jit only stayed for the “Kids” Firework which was about 8ish or 9ish. I instead wanted to watch the whole thing, as I wanted to make myself a little Birthday present. You have to imagine about 20.000 people around Macquarie Chairs, everyone getting slowly drunk and partying, watching the sky going dark, and counting the minutes and seconds before the New Year begins.Myself, well I got a bit intoxicated, but I managed to see the Fireworks. As soon as the fireworks finished everyone tried to leave the place asap to reach a cap, go home, go clubbing etc etc…I was running really fast to get a cap to “Home Nigh Club” in Darling Harbour where Roger Sanchez was playing that night. Unfortunately I was running that fast and at the same time being a bit too much intoxicated I lost my balance and fall over someone’s feet. My knee was bleeding, but you know yourself, once you are a bit drunk, you don’t care. Next thing I got a cap to my hostel, told the driver to wait, picked up my Ticket for the Night Club and went to Darling Harbour. Now it was only a few minutes away, I paid the taxi driver and run towards “Home Night Club”. I arrived at the Club and wanted to enter, but I realized I couldn’t find my ticket. Arghhh I was so angry about myself, I left my 90 Dollar Ticket in the taxi :( I wanted to call my mates, but my battery run out. What a birthday present I was thinking, damn it, I tried to get in and convince them I did pay or to look after my mates. But it wasn’t possible. In the end, I found a few girls, confirming them my birthday I got a ticket of them for 50 bucks, I didn’t care how much, well so I got in, finally at about 2am :) I found Ciaran and Jit already being …. of their head haha… We had the best night out, left the club at about 8am.

Here is a video from our night out!

It was the hottest 8am morning I ever experienced, that day it was 45 degrees Celsius, the hottest day I’ve ever head in my life, and the best thing, it was after 6 hours partying, being fully intoxicated :) I went home by bus somehow and I saw heaps of people sleeping at Bondi Beach, after Fatboy Slim was playing there. I went straight to bed, but unfortunately I didn’t have any air-conditioning. I just remember I wanted to go to Field Day, the biggest Australian New Years Day party, but waking up at 5 and being that hot, I decided not to go.

It was my best Year, and I want to thank everyone who made it special to me!
